Gordon, Ellen Jean (1992) Myth and metaphor in Adele Wiseman's fiction : a study in the relationship between ancient texts and modern narrative. Masters thesis, Concordia University.
The novel The Sacrifice is discussed as a modern version of the ancient tale of the binding of Isaac found in Genesis 22. The novel Crackpot is contrasted as a metaphor for the creation myth and the Lurianic doctrine of the breaking of the vessels.
