Abstract
My thesis examines the unique role of the community art educator, the practice of teaching art in community settings, and how these relate to the particular skills needed to succeed as an community art educator. This thesis interviews four community art educators and describes their reasons for choosing this career. The goal of this thesis is to develop a descriptive profile of the community art educator.
