Abstract
The thesis is a historical novel set in World War II. It tells the story of a German foot soldier, from his drafting into the German Army in 1944, his time at the Eastern Front battling the Russians, his return home for a brief furlough where he consumated his love for his girlfriend, and eventual return to battle until the war wound down in May of 1945, where he surrendered to the Canadian Army.
