Abstract

Cette recherche phénoménologique vise à documenter l’expérience de musicothérapeutes pratiquant en santé mentale auprès d’adultes au Québec. Le nombre de musicothérapeutes travaillant principalement dans ce domaine est malheureusement restreint. On en connaît peu sur leur expérience de travail, leur approche, leur motivation, leur intérêt, leurs défis et les réflexions qui les sous-tendent. Les modèles de réadaptation psychosociale, de rétablissement et de programmes centrés sur les clients gagneraient à être davantage connus. De fait, les écrits en français sont quasi inexistants pour témoigner de l’expérience et des bénéfices qu’en retirent les musicothérapeutes praticiens et les personnes vivant avec des problèmes de santé mentale. En conséquence, la rareté des services de musicothérapie en santé mentale au Québec prive de cette approche innovatrice et créative des adultes fréquentant des milieux communautaires et hospitaliers. Des réflexions, des recommandations, des idées de recherche et les résultats des entretiens sont présentés ici. Il est à espérer que cette démarche contribuera à stimuler la pratique de la musicothérapie en santé mentale.
