Abstract

Cette recherche basée sur les arts explore les compositions de chansons de l’auteure en tant qu'auteure-compositrice-interprète, réalisées entre 2013 et 2017, afin de faire ressortir les éléments qui ont contribué au développement de son identité comme musicothérapeute en devenir. La recension des écrits examine des théories de l’identité dans le contexte de l’adolescence et de l’âge adulte, en lien avec la société ainsi que la musique. Ensuite, la composition de chansons et son impact sur l’identité sont explorés dans le contexte de la musicothérapie, pour finir avec un survol de la définition de l’identité professionnelle chez les musicothérapeutes. L’analyse de données s’est déroulée en deux étapes: la première consistait en quatre écoutes des chansons ayant chacune une intention spécifique. La deuxième étape fait une synthèse du matériel qui a émergé des écoutes pour en faire une analyse thématique inductive. Les résultats démontrent que les chansons de l’auteure ont contribué à mieux se connaître, à développer un sentiment du pouvoir d'agir et à approfondir sa quête de sens. Cette recherche lui a permis d'identifier six composantes fortes et inhérentes à l'acte de créer des chansons qui résonnent avec la quête d’identité, soit le rapport au temps, à la parole, à la musique, à la liberté, au sentiment de contrôle ainsi qu'au phénomène du flow. Ces éléments l’ont amenée à porter un regard nouveau sur elle-même, son environnement et vers le bien-être des individus et des collectivités. Cette recherche lui a également permis d’approfondir son approche comme musicothérapeute en associant des valeurs dont elle a hérité dans ces expériences de composition de chansons à des théories en musicothérapie. Des recommandations pour des recherches futures sont finalement présentées.
