Abstract
This review explores the parallel narrative, arts-based story of a South Asian woman, scholar, and supervisor, and her White American male PhD student. It is the story of difficult but ultimately healing interrogations of whiteness, privilege, and higher education. It is about the process of mentoring and negotiating identity. It is an insider’s look at the challenges of effective growth-promoting supervision.
